About YGM

 

Yangtzekiang Garment was founded in 1949 by our Chairman Dr. S. K. Chan and was listed on the Hong Kong's public stock exchange in 1970.  Having started off with a mere 20 sewing machines, Yangtzekiang Garment has grown into a global organization more widely known as the YGM Group and has over 6000 employees worldwide with an annual revenue of about US$400 million. Businesses of the Group include garment, textiles manufacturing, sourcing, wholesaling and retailing.

With Hong Kong as its base, YGM Group has branched out to China and other parts of the world. We have sales offices/ representatives in the U.K, Singapore, and China, and factories in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Hong Kong, and Mainland China (Wuxi, Panyu and Guigang).

YGM Group's textiles and business covers a wide array of products from yarn, woven & knitted fabrics to woven & knitted garments. We handle both ODM and OEM garment businesses as well as garment sourcing, wholesale and retail business. Our wholesale and retail businesses are trading under the name of YGM Trading Limited which has been a public listed company since 1987. YGM Trading Limited now has over 250 stores (all labels included) all over Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Mainland China, and Europe. The labels it carries are: Michel René, Aquascutum, Ashworth, Guy Laroche, J. Lindeberg and Peak Performance.

The Factory in Myanmar was opened.
2011
2nd Factory in Bangladesh was opened. Production sites were expanded in Bangladesh and Guangxi, China.
2007
1st Factory in Bangladesh was opened.
2006
Expanded and restructured the production sites in Panyu and Wuxi, China.
2005
To align with new business vision, YGM's full name: Yangtzekiang Garment Mfg. Co., Ltd. was changed to Yangtzekiang Garment Limited. 

The 00s

Production sites were expanded to Bangladesh and Lesotho.

1991

Established Hong Kong Knitters Ltd factory in Panyu, Guangdong, China.

1990
Acquired Hong Kong Knitters Ltd, a leading cotton knitted manufacturer.
THE 90s
Production sites were further expanded to Cambodia, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. 

1987

Retail division was spun off as an independent company,
YGM Trading Ltd.

1980

Our first joint venture investment in Wuxi, China.

THE 80s

 Production sites were expanded to Saipan, the U.S.

1970
YGM was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. (Former of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited)
THE 70s
Established retail outlets in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.
EARLY 60s
Production expanded to trousers and suits.
1949
